Color me skeptical... Do you think there might be a reason Ford, Dodge, and Chevy have had other companies making their diesels until now?

When the rubber hits the road, give me a specialist over a freelancer anyday.

no they are not they have same block bore&stroke the heads and fuel sys are different it went from 7.3 idi to a 7.3 di
  • 1983–1987 — 6.9 L IDI (indirect injection)
  • 1988–1993 — 7.3 L IDI
  • 1993–1994 — 7.3 L IDI with Turbo
  • 1994–2003.5 — 7.3 L DI "Power Stroke" (direct injection)
  • 2003.5–present — 6.0 L DI "Power Stroke" (Only E series vehicles currently)
  • 2008–present — 6.4 L DI "Power Stroke
the 6.0 would have been updated to meet 07emissions but it got a bad name

The 6.0, once said and done, was okay, I know plenty of people who are happy with them. No, Ford did not just throw it out because of it's record. Ford threw it out because it wouldn't be able to meet the 07 emissions.

UGA33 has a good reputation on FTE. UGA33 has a good reputation on FTE.
Ford has had a long look at what diesels should have and not have. They definately learned what not to do from the 6.0L and i think they will make a pretty good motor.

For Ford's sake, I hope you're right...

Also, I thought the 6.4 was the same block as the 6.0, just a slightly larger displacement and a lot of top end changes. Is that not true?
very true!
