302 Towing power
OK it goes like this, I have a 94 XLT with a 302 auto, headers, Flowmaster exhaust, Hyperchip, and a K&N filter. I tow a 14' enclosed trailer. I also have 31" tires. What can I do to get a noticeable increase in power for towing? Any other bolt ON's? Gearing? right now I have 3.55's
Thanks

302 Towing power
Before I got my 98 F-150.. I had a 91 model 302 and E40D... I had a 2 inch superlift on it and 33 12.50s I ran it till about 125,000 on the stock motor I then rebuilt it.. I put a crane compu cam in it.. that helped the torque alot.. I first had a cam from advanced auto in it.. and it jerked and just didnt run right... I called summit and asked them and they hooked me up with the Compu cam and it was killer... I then ported the stock heads myself.. that helped a little.. I ran a set of full length headers a full 3in. exhaust no converters and 2 flow masters... I ran a set of 9mm motorsport plug wires.. and I had the motor bored .40 over with a set of trw pistons.. I then had a shift kit put in my tranny when I had it rebuilt... the truck would tow my 18' camper fairly easy... but just driving around the truck had a WHOLE lot more power and got decent gas mileage... around 14 or so... not to bad with a set of 33s... I regret gettin rid of that truck...
