302 rip_out help

I am tearing out a 302 in my 71.... It sat for 2 years after a kid drove it without oil. When I cranked it up, I put a 4 inch hole into the side of the oil pan... Should I rebuild or get a new block?? Unfortunately I live at an apartment so I limited space to work with. Plus I have champaign dreams with a beer budget.... Any tips??

DL70f100, Welcome to the 67-72 forum

Where are you located, there might be someone close by that could offer some work space for a few days.

If you haven't driven the truck for a couple years a few more isn't gonna make much difference. Look around for another engine to stuff in.

This sites classifieds, and Craigslist are both good sources for parts.

well I live in Mesquite, Texas.... More on the buisness side of things.. I benifit from that buy having a dozen repair shops that I have been showing my face around.

I have already been pulling the engine apart but I cant get the intake manifold off... The distributor isnt budging but it doesnt look connected to the manifold.. Could I be missing something simple??

Only thing holding the dizzy in is the, usually, 1/2 bolt and clamp at the lowest visible point of the motor, and the manifold should come off with the valve covers removed and the bolts pulled.
