Dick,
I agree the but it now price is way out of line. My father in law has a beautiful 56 F100 he bought at the supernats four years ago and didn't pay quite that much and it's also been completely restored. I know we're comparing red delious with granny smiths here but I think the 56 is a more popular Ford pick up than the F1's are.
I don't think you could restore that truck for the current high bid. I don't think the speedo is correct. I had one and sold it to a friend who has a
1950 F6. I also don't care for the angle iron tail lights. One other thing, any 50 I have seen is column shifted not on the floor.
This is only my opinion and I am not trying to take away anything from the truck. When you say it's the possibly best restored 50 F1, you open yourself up for a little nitpicking.

Ok, I don't know very much about F-1s but it looks like it has bear claw latches (true or not ?) and we all know it didn't come from the factory with dual exhaust and glass pack mufflers (nothing wrong with them except they aren't stock).
To me a restored vehicle is exactly like it came from the factory but I seem to be in the minorty,
Just for the record my 56 is so far from stock it would make a purist cry but I like it.
I do think it's worth the current price but not the buy now price.

The pickup may have a heavy duty three speed, which would be a floor shift. I believe it was still an option in 1950. I don't like the taillights either; but my biggest complaint, since it isn't mine and therefore I can rip it apart, is the pump to carb fuel line. I can't figure out what is so hard about going to NAPA, Car Quest, etc. and asking for two Weatherhead 59X4 fittings so you can intall a correct steel or copper fuel line instead of the clunky rubber line? Now that I'm done nit-picking, I can say it does look niiiice!

Guys,
I agree with the bid price being worth it. Not sure what you mean about bear claw latches, do you mean tail gate latches? They look correct to me.
My F1 has duel cherry bombs. Nothing like the sound of a Flattie with duels... This is a nice Effie, just a few things I would change on it.

Shifters were on the floor until '51. IIRC. It looks like stock latches.
Compare it with this Southwestern beauty!

You can say they're not worth that kind of money, apparently others disagree (I do too). Personally the SW truck would be my choice simply because I doubt it was ever too rusty. Repairs aren't the same as original.

I was talking about the door latches which it appears I was wrong I guess they are stock.
I do agree about the sound except I think my 54 Merc (car) with a Y-block and dual glass packs will give a flathead a run for the money in the sound department ( I like them both just happen to own the Y-Block).

Neither is a 100-point resto, but at least neither of them has an SBC, a mustang II or Volare front end, 17" wheels with 50-series tires, or running boards scraping the pavement. If a guy wants to put a running board step-plate on an otherwise original truck, I can't complain.
Looks like the red one may get close to the B-I-N price.....
