"rebuild kits" for 9in rear end
Has anyone used a Ratech general rebuild kit (crush sleeve, gasket, pinion seal) to rebuild their 9 in rear end? I recently found a 28 spline out of an early 80's F150 for $40!!! Can anyone recommend what they have used (I have seen them also in LMC Truck)?? Thanks for the info!!

I got a rebuild kit on Ebay that had all Timken bearings for less than $80 to my door just like this one HERE . I'll also make my usual shameless plug for the rebuilding your 9 inch rear end DVD from Ken Collins at Badshoe productions. Tremendous video, which can make anyone an expert.
EDIT: Whoever you order the kit from, I would recommend buying an extra crush sleeve. I over crushed my 1st one and no one in town carried them so I had to mail order a replacement. They're only about 3 bucks, but it shut me down for 4 days waiting for them to arrive.
Don't forget you'll also probably want new axle shaft bearings and seals as well.

Number Dummy: Thanks for the part #'s...these are handy at O'Reallys (Oreilly's)...those guys take 2-3 times to get it right!!!
Goobzilla: I took a look at the demo video...it is dumbed down perfectly for me!!! I have heard about getting a second crush sleeve for that reason exactly...
Thanks for the info!!!!! I will look into each a little further!!!
