So nice to see Ford learning lessons from past programs. The 6.0 was such a seamless launch this just makes sense doesn't it? It will be interesting to see where this goes. This things has twin screws right? So there are twice as many turbo's and hoses to replace in the future. Along with transmission issues and so on and so on.

The 6.0 started out just fine. QUIET, smooth, powerful. Then came the seemingly THOUSANDS of reflashes to "fix" it. Watch out, the flash to fix the flames is also going to cause turbo, EGR, and tranny failures....not to mention make it louder.

Why are they shooting flames out the exhaust? As part of the soot filter clean program of course.
How are they going to clean the filter if they can't do a fuel dump in the exhaust?
So - how are they going to meet emissions?
And then - How are they going to clean the filter?
hmmm.... the mind boggles.
But I will wait to see what happens with the 6.4, as I think this issue is completely independant of deciding whether she is a good engine or not...

I agree.
On a side note: This flaming incident is now getting local TV news coverage.
"Ford has told it's dealers to stop selling it's flagship F-Series truck...blah blah.....due to flames exiting the tail pipe....... blah blah......recalling 37,000 trucks with the 6.4 liter diesel...blah blah"
No where in the report did it say that of the 37,000 trucks, 29,000 of them were still on the dealer lots or in transit. Or that the "Stop Sell Order" would only last about a week...until the lot trucks were reprogrammed.
Typical media incomplete story.
I guess they felt that where there is fire ....they only need the smoke....
