no power, ebpv the cause??

i recently disconnected my ebpv on my 7.3 ex. and no, i was stupid and have not put the eliminator plug on the end. anyways, i had the tranny rebuilt last week and now the truck has no power. the guy that dropped the tranny and put it back in said that they did take off one exhaust clamp. my question is, if the ebpv plug got water in it or something else and screwed up the plug, could that send a message to the pcm to change the way the truck runs? thanks
