Ashtray power point

I'm slowly trying to get my Aero into good shape. Right now I'm working on both power points (cig lighters). I got the one in the rear replaced. I ended up destroying the fold out tray there BUT... I'm going to make a fiberglass housing there and just make it a power point. we don't smoke anyways...

I'm really having trouble getting the ash tray in the dash out... I pulled both screws in the top of it, and removed the lower bezel around the EQ... the ashtray now slides, but wont come out... normally I'd just swap the lighter, but the wire's broken behind it... any suggestions?

next on the list is converting the doors to crank windows since the wiring is messed up for the power windows... then again... I LIKE crank windows

What year is your Aero? The ashtray removal procedure is different for to-91 and 92-on.

asavage - 1990... it's only got 111K on it tho...

Pablo - I certainly enjoy the convienence of power windows. I also know how to troubleshoot and fix them when they go bad. Problem is: They always seem to go bad somewhere other than at home and they always stick in the down position.
