Ok kEVIN -I am tagging along and give my help.I think you are starting your own ''SMITH OLE FORD TRUCK'' soite and going to charge admission to see all the old trucks --LIKE THE FAIR!!!!haha!!!I will start collecting my rigging tools.I used to move heavy equipment-and LADLES AND BOTTLE CARS from the steel mills!!!It will be easier--these trucks are heavy though, and long.Need a long trailer.I will be ready next Mon-Tues-Wed--just name it.BILL-----PS---I MEAN SITE NOT SOITE!!!
I've always liked the Ol Wrecker look.
I know a Guy that runs a 61 Chevy Wrecker, Big sucker. Mid winter we had a 50 vehicle pile up on I-90, he was even dragging Semi Tractors with it.
Dick, The trucks are in Brooklyn CT. I was glad it was not Brooklyn NY. I figure I will leave Monday afternoon to pickup the wrecker truck. I will try to load it at 8:00 am and be on road at 10:00. He said he has a friend with a wrecker to hook up to the truck and put it on backwards so the weight is upfront and over the axles more. I will spend Wednesday taking it apart and to the sandblasters. He has a big forklift to take it off with. My thought is to then load my truck up on a trailer take it down to him and let him set it right on the truck. I am going to let him blast it and paint it.
