can i safely and legally tow my 18ft travel trailer(no fiver)4500 pounds and my 20ft boat 2900 pounds one behind another behind my 99 f-350 crw cab 8ft bed in missouri ?
I've seen bigger, but I'm not sure of the laws here. I know I've seen many of the boat dealers going to the spring boat shows from Lake of the Ozarks to St. Louis and KC towing two boats one behind the other. Heck, that's only 38' together. I've seen bigger single trailers and those shouldn't put you over gross for 350 I don't think.
I sent an e-mail to a friend that might be able to answer this one. He's a truck driver from Missouri. Hopefully, he'll get it soon and stop by to give a reply. He's mrfixit. Great guy.

Yes, in missouri and most of the midwest you can, so long as each trailer has brakes, preferably electronic, that your vehicle is equipped with a brake CONTROLLER and the lighter trailer is to the rear. The boat may b longer but it is lighter, so it does in fact, go to the rear. The real trick is getting a stout hitch on the travel trailer.
also, don't forget that a combination like that requires thinking ahead enough for parking and such, and backing is nearly out of the question.
Thank 6L for letting me know about this..mighta missed it these days... good luck!
update! well i know i need a weight distribution hitch before i even try it.thats a fact, but what if my boat doesnt have breaks?what now lol
UPGRADE. many trailer supplies offer everything you need, lol... backing plates, wiring, breakaway kits, you name it...
do you have any idea what the tongue weights are on the two? My buddy just put a frame-mount on his, but it's a fiver...
