Any Virginians replaced their own heater Core & Blend door?
I'm all shakey about doing this. My pal is a Chevy lover and super mechanic and he dosen't want to do it. He said find a Ford mechanic who has done it before.
I'm scared! There's a lot to this job. Any ideas, or do you know a good mechanic near Petersburg who has done this before?
good luck with that they suck!
last one I done had to drain the A/C down and take the dash out.
take it to ford shop and let them hassel with it.
your blend door must be broken?

Yep. We could see the actuator shaft turning and the black door turning with it so I'm told the blend door is broken at the top and therefore the dash needs to come out.
I'm gonna beg my friend the Chevy man to do it for me. He really hates Fords too! I've heard it is mega bucks to have a Ford dealer fix it.
I put it in the shopping cart and gave the link that way you wouldn`t have to look it up
theres no part# listed just the price at the top of the page
Im sorry if this sounds sarcastic don`t know how to express that good on computer

It must have put a cookie on you and it doesn't rcognize my computer. It says "Cart empty." Do you recall the part name what you searched for? I tried "plenum" with no luck, and "blend door" too.
I did not see any sarcasm, I thought you were being more than generous with your time and knowledge. And i really appreciate it too!

Collision parts? Thanks a ton pal! I owe you one. Maybe I'll let you come over and help me remove the dash. How about that?
I replaced my heater core in my '97 a few months ago. Be sure to allow yourself plenty of time. There are a lot of little screws in hard to reach or out of sight places. It took my dad and I one whole day just to dissasemble the dash enough to get to the box. It took another day to change the core and connect it to new heater hoses and to get the dash halfway assembled. Then, another half day to put the rest of the dash and trim pieces back together.
This was taking our time and having a couple breaks here and there. Dont forget the defrost vent tubes. I forgot two on the driver's side and had to take it apart again. I have a handfull of screws left over...but the dash is solid and doesnt squeak...so that's good.
