Retractable Tonneau for 2008 SD with Tailgate Step

I'm in the market for a Retractable Tonneau for an '08 F350 SD with tailgate step.

A local tonneau supplier says the Roll N Lock won't work with the tailgate step because it needs to latch into the tailgate. He suggested the Retrax retractable tonneau.

Any suggestions of retractable tonneau that will work with the '08's tailgate step?

I love my Retrax. Give them a call to see if it works, don't see why not. Mine locks on it own rail.

I have a rollbak(BAK Industry) cover an I like the concept but the quality is bad. When I where this one out I will either get a Retrax or Fold-a-Cover. I really like the retractable covers but the Fold-a-Cover is super simple to remove, only 2 bolts. My rollbak slides on rails, no bearings just metal on metal. Also it leaks way to much. Hopefully the Retrax does not leak as bad. If you get a Retrax can you update me on how you like it and how water tight it is? Good luck

I have a Pace Edwards which I chose over the Retrax because a friend and Retrax recommended them. The Retrax has a Lexan cover which gets horribly scratched with dust and dirt/mud from out at the ranch...unless they changed the design.

Hi Folks

The saga continues.

My truck arrived at the dealer today! (woohoo!!!!) My dealer is organizing the install of aftermarket stuff (e.g. Line-X and hard Tonneau) and says Retrax doesn't yet make a retractable unit that works with the 08 Tailgate Step .

Can I please hear from any owners of 08's that have installed a retractable hard tonneau with the tailgate step? Please advise who makes one.

It turns out the dealer's information source was all wet about the Retrax not working with the tailgate step.

The Retrax does in fact work with the 2008 tailgate step!

I know because I had it installed last week at an accessory shop and it works like a dream.

Id also like to know if the Retrax does a good job ok keeping water out. thoughts on the Pace Edwards would be appreciated aswell.

i'm also looking at the Retrax---the factory told me it does work on the new tailgate--i send another e-mail asking about the water issue--this is a big concern for me have not heard back---also i would like a bedrug anyone know if it works on new tailgate
