Exclamation 1999 F-350 V-10 to 7.3L Diesel

Ok i know you guys are gonna tell me to buy a new truck or one with a diesel already in it but...... well this was my grandpa's truck and he left it to me when he passed away. It's a really nice truck and only has 108k and it has 3 coil packs bad, needs a tune up and it burns about 2-4 quarts of oil between changes.... so i wanna put a 7.3l powerstroke in it....

What do i need besides obveously the engine, does the wiring interchange and plug and play with the new harness or how do i go about the wiring....

I am really wanting to do this and have to do it within the next month or so if i'm gonna do it. i travel about 350 miles at least twice a month so the milage of the V10 is about 7-9.5 on the interstate and always has been since new. in town it's about 4-7 towing and empty 50/50. we got a ranch and small construction company so i got plenty of diesel... we got two 1000 gallons tanks at the ranch so it's also more convienient.

-So what do i need to do the swap???

Yep!!

The first thing your going to need is around $5,000-$8,000 for parts or for a good parts truck

Well, it would probably be easiest to find a rolled truck with what you want and drop your cab and clip on it. The newer the truck, the tougher the swap

Someone more knowledgable than I will chime in here shortly

The good news is the V10 and Diesel share the same subframe components. Buying a Powerstroke engine alone will set you back about $6K, then you need a tranny, at $2500. On the other hand you can find a V10 for about $2500.

Try searching Ebay and you might find a wrecked truck and you will have all the parts you need.
