Incredably annoying ignition key chime

I have a 97 F-150. Has anyone figured out how to disable that @#&%%#%&#@$^'n headlight/ignition warning chime? It's always the first I do to a vehicle, but this chime is nothing like any other one I've seen. I seems to be attached / embedded in the back of the fuse panel. I CANNOT find the wires going into it, nor is their enough clearance to pull the fuse panel out far enough to see it clearly. This thing is driving me NUTS!!!!!!

Why do you hate it? I actually like the lights on warning chime as I have a tendency to forget that my lights are left on otherwise. Aside from that, I like my vehicles *stealthy*, and one of the first things I did was disconnect all the door lights and the like. If you want the chime to stop with the key in the ignition and the door open, just turn the key one notch to the right.

I'd also like to know how to eliminate the chime. I do know it will stop with the key in the on position as stated above but w/o the engine running you'll drain your battery much more quickly than using the accessories position. Been there done that.

I do believe the newer trucks have an automatic cut-off for the lights if you leave them on.
