ats and actuator rod

I have a 200 what happens if you dont shorten the rod. I really dont want to if i dont have to cause i dont want to cut it to short and be screwed

You don't really need to cut the rod. It's threaded, and just put the unthreaded end in a vise or use vise grips, and then use a pair of pliers to turn the turnbuckle *clockwise* to shorten the overall length. Normally when it stops, most are fine then.

all right how do you get the road of the turbo?? i know there is a clip that holds it. Is the clip what attachs to the turbo? and any special technique to try?

There's a little E-clip that keeps the wastegate actuator rod attached to the wastegate valve's arm that extends up out of the turbine. A little 90* pick will help in removing the clip... you can slip it onto the backside and pull. I didn't have a nice pick at the time I installed mine, so I bent a small to an angle and gripped it with a small pair of vice grips, and used that as my pick. The clip will probably go flying, so good luck with it... best to replace it with a new Napa circular linkage clip. Check the Common Mods thread for a post by me that has the part number if you'd like it... the new clip you can slip on and off quite easily.

All right thanks. I thought that was the clip but wasnt sure and didnt want to go pulling on something and break it.
