christop43 is starting off with a positive reputation.
I have been runing this for a month now... kind of neat to see the different WU that pop up.

The Playstation 3 can run the software as well..... actually much faster than the home PC.

Question.... why does it look like I'm working on the same WU as my first one? It's showing the same name, numbers and everything.
My screen aslo shows no WU's completed, but on the main site it shows my first one finished this morning. Someone please enlighten me. I'd hate to waste a bunch of time doing the same one over again...and even with CPU at 100%, all day it's only done 650/5000 ... that's even slower than before.

Hep me! Hep me! Somebody tell me the numbers are always the same Gromac's Core and p3040_supervillan-03 ?????????????

And in the queue info the numbers of the 2nd unit are all the same. Someone should let me know if I need to close out this WU.. and even how to do so, if I need to.

the main number may be the same but if you look there will be 3 more numbers with it they are labelled Run, clone, and Gen I have done 20 something 3038 WUs but they all had different sets of numbers with those labels. Like right now I have 2 different processors running WU 2125 but one is Run 233, Clone 87, Gen 3 the other is run 133, Clone 71, Gen 9. If your using the graphics program you can find those numbers in your log file.

OK ... thanks a lot. Found all that, but now I'm concerned about something else. Reading the log files, it appears that my first WU was not successfully sent to their server and they've stopped trying to get the info. My firewall is set to allow traffic for the folding program, so I'm wondering if there's a way to find out if they finally were successful in downloading the results. I'll go back and read through the ending, but it's kinda confusing at the moment.. I don't see anything that says successful transfer of information to their server. I did finish and get the points & all, but it doesn't make sense yet. I'll go read the log files again and see if I missed something. Oh.. at one point is says it's no longer trying to retreive that file...after about a half dozen attempts at trying for it.

If I'm spinning my wheels here, it's gonna bum me right out. Anyway.. lemme go look-see what else I can read...maybe I'm just all FUBAR, as usual.

if it is posted on the site with your info it actually went through and they recieved it. whats not going through is the response acknowledging it so the program thinks it hasn't made it through yet. go into the config part and uncheck "use internet explorer connection settings" if it is unchecked then go ahead and check it. some reason some of the servers have a problem with this and you have to change it occasionally but 99% of the time having that unchecked seems to work fine.

OK thanks Monsterbaby. I also went and read some of the FAQ's. I'm eventually going to set up the laptop and let it run full time, but I've gotta get my router reestablished and reinstalled. Most of the time, by the time I go up to bed, I don't want to look at the computer until tomorrow, but with my sleep habits all messed up for the last 4 months (or longer) I never know when I'm going to fall over. Leaving my main computer running all the time now, I can always just come down and turn the monitor on, should I need to do anything special. The laptop is mainly for travel purposes. We'll see yet.. momma is still deciding if we're going to run both puters, seeing as she pays the power bill plus owns el laptopo. Ahhh... I'm just babbling now.... I'll check in later...I've got a dozen forums I frequent and it's time to move over to check another one for a while.

Later dudes! And thanks for the support and help here. As long as I'm being helpful, then my initial goal is met.

dick, if it makes you feel any better, find a light bulb in the house that's on 24/7 and turn it off if you want to run the laptop. Most all of them have a 65w power supply, and that's at PEAK usage. It probably doesn't pull more than 50 watts when folding with the screen down.

I'm going to have to take one of my CPU's offline for a while, as I need to borrow some components temporarily for a customer computer I'm building. Long story involving shipping and deadlines. Anyway, it should be back up tomorrow, but I'll probably lose a spot or two.

He hasn't given up folding. I know that for a fact. If he wants to say who he's folding for, I'm sure he'll spit it out one day. Not to worry about the man who got this ball rolling here.

BTW ..on 2nd WU and currently at 3200/5000, which is really 3,200,000 out of 5,000,000 moves or twists or something.. I know... it's in my log file. For an older computer, I don't think I'm doing too badly.

ATTENTION ALL FOLDERS!!!

if you have a dual core machine you can finally put it to better use. the new smp client for windows came out. im now folding 30% faster than trying to use each core by itself. check it out on F@h download page. also note, its hard to just look and see how you are doing. ill update this a little later
