Spare Tire Rack

I just got my 91 Bronco XLT and the guy before me took off the Spare Tire holder and just put the bolts back, I was woundering if there is any company out there that would have one or a remake? Kinda scared, being on a trail with all your gear is pointless if you don't have a spare tire! Would the stock unit hold a 33x12.50 tire? Thanks for any help guys.

BTW the back has my sub enclosure and amp along with the rest of my gear incase of emergency.

I had my spare full sized 32 x 11.50 MTR on the back of my 89 for a while then I found an interior tire holder and moved it in out of the sun and temptations way.

Are you looking for the interior or outside carrier? I have an interior that I have no need for.

try the local wrecking yard. you might also consider having a custom rear bumper/tire carrier made. a 33 will work though and ive seen 35's on them as well but that is pushing the limits of what the tailgate can handle. with tailgates becoming hard to find in good shape i would rather not chance it.

As they said, look around at some salvage yards. If you want an exterior one I would buy a cover for it. The sun can get to it but I found a replacement cover for mine at the auto store. You can also get a keyed lug nut so it can not be stolen so easily. I think the rig looks better with the spare on the outside. The inside does not have enough room for me as it is.

If you were in PA there are 3 broncos with mounts sitting holding down the grass on my way to work. There are 20 F f150 - Broncos sitting on my 63 mile trip to work and back .

Careful, there two different outside outside spare versions. Bronco's coming from the factory had the version with the hinges mounted on the right quarter panel end, with the latch on the rear door. There was also a dealer installed unit that pivoted off the rear bumper.

Mine bolts to the right side panel above and below the tail lamp, just can't find anyone with a carrier!!!! No salvage's either!! Like I said, they put the bolts back in, and in the tail gate. Having no spare is just asking for trouble.

Inside spare bracket

LMC truck sells them, including all the bits and pieces. I just installed one in my 93 Bronco. Seems a tree jumped if front of me while backing up in the yard, and the tire was swung to the side. Shoulda seen the dance I did--! I dont know how close they are to the OEM inside mounts, maybe very close.

I Have a brand new one I took off my 92 Bronco 16 years ago, and has been in the garage ever since. I more than willing to sell it, let me know.

I had the outside mount on my last Bronco. It looks cool, but with 35's it ruined my tailgate. Also, you cant haul anything with the gate open. I took the mount off my current Bronc, but sorry to say, I chucked it. If I was going to put another one on, I would build it my self so it could take the weight and could be driven with it open.

Here is anpother option...I just picked up my latest edition of Four Wheeler and low-n-behold Tire gate ofers a new swing-away spare-tire carrier that mounts to your 2-inch (Class III or greater) reciever in minutes! I do nto know the cost, but it beats the wear and tear on your tailgate and frees up your interior. Here is the webaddress:

www.tiregate.com
Part number UHG1010

cost unknown
