Question Max gross weight on F2, F3, F4 VIN Plate

I have the truck and title but the VIN plate was removed. I searched for a reproduction but couldn't find one. Does anyone know where they can be found?

I did find a trophy shop that can make one but I need a little information.. What is the 'max gross weight' lbs value that appear on an F2, F3, F4 VIN? I.e.
F1 4700 LBS.
F2
F3
F4
F5 14000 LBS.
F6 16000 LBS.

Thanks for the help. frank

For original type of tags you can try this place:

http://www.datatags.com/

I have never bought from them but I have referred a few people and they all were happy with them.

Wow, 6800 on an F3, what does one with a flat8 and a flatbed weigh? I'd guess 3-4K. Pretty good carrying capacity if they are that lite.

A F-3 pickup with the V-8 weighed 4000 lbs and the chassis cab weighed 3500 lbs.

51dueller thank you for the numbers. I have a F2 chassis with 5 lug 16 inch wheels and an F4 chassis with 8 lug 17 inch wheels. I like how the 17 inch look in the larger wheel openings. Did the F3 come with 17 inch wheels?

bobj49f2 thank you for the link. I sent them an email requesting information. If the price is right I'll give them a try. That is as soon as I decide if it is F2, F3, or F4.

My F3 had split 17's, replaced them with 17x9's and it looks great.

Yeah I don't have any pics of it. They are these:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=140074065321

Only thing I had to do was put some bump stops on the pitman arm, I am running
265/70/17's on them and they touched at full turn. Mainly I just waned to get
out of the split rims and this rims could handle the tires I run on my F150 so I
went with them, when I get new tires on the F150 the '51 gets the old ones.

I will try and get some pics tomorrow I am very pleased with how it looks. They
are a bit shorter than the stock tires that were on the truck but quite a bit wider.

bobj49f2 datatags wanted $125 to make the vin tag. The local trophie shop sais they will do for $25. I'll let you know how it comes out.

galaxie641 Those wheels look good on your truck. They fill up the wheel opening great. They don't look any shorter, must be the width. Thanks for posting the pic. helps a lot. frank

I had these plates made at a local trophy shop. He made both for less than $20. He can make F1-F8 1948-52 (would need to change the LBS and series number). The smaller tag for inside hood is good but not as crisp. My fault, I didn't provide a good pic for that.

Anyone know where to find the brass rivets?

Frank,

Did you have to supply the trophy shop the blank plates to inscribe? I assume he didn't have them in stock. Did he stampor engrave them? They look very nice and not a bad price.

BTW, all of the trucks I have had had steel rivets holding these tags in. Nothing special, just spiral hammer rivets.
