In this thread or another thread? Tagging onto an ancient thread is not the best way.

I would post a new thread with a very clear title stating your problem if you haven't done so as yet. Suggesting you'll trade your Ford in on a Dodge or Chevy if you can't fix a problem that you have likely caused is not gonna get you as many answers as simply asking your question with humility.

Good luck,
George

For this reason I upgraded to 4.88 to make my 4.6 150 a better hauler.

4.6 liter

We have a 2007 with a 4.6 in it. with only 97000 miles on it. plugs are suppose to be for 100,000. We take care of our vehicles. It all of a sudden started running rough. Thought it was a sensor. Took it to a mechanic. Nope couldn't be so lucky. The #3 cylinder, the plug was burnt and broke off. Now the cylinder is bad. I was told I have to replace the whole motor. Makes me mad. We went and bought a 2011 F-150 with a 5.0. Freaking LOVE it... I will never buy another truck with a 4.6. So now we are in the hunt for a motor.

Thanks for all of your help!
4.6 is a good motor, if you want more ***** have a tuner reprogram. I talked to my performance guy who does the programming and said I can gain 2 mile per gallon. On top of that I can get the horse power of a 5.4

I haul a dump trailer daily with my 4.6 with no issues. Sure the truck has 4.88 gears, 9.75diff and beefed up trans. My 4.6 has 240000km without issues so far. Saying this, once this engine goes i will swap to the 5.4.
