I was doing a lot of drooling while looking at the cars on the dupont registry website when I clicked on some cars made by a company called Noble.

This company out of britan is building supercars using 3.0 ford v-6's built for them by rousch. They sport twin turbo's and a lot of other go fast equipment.

These are D.O.H.C. motors so I know they can't be the vulcan blocks we have.
I'm not sure what stock engine this was exactly to begin with. They don't mention Yamaha so I don't think it was ever a s.h.o. type motor, and since these cars are 2005 to 2007 it must be an engine still in production. I never knew Jack Rousch spend any time working with anything other than a V-8.

The engine the used is the 3L Duratec engine, optional engine in the 96-2005 taurus, mazda 6, escape, fusion, 500, montego, zephyr among others.

 

The Duratec is a different engine from the Vulcan, the 3.0 liter engine in all the Aerostars and Tauruses. The Taurus SHO used a Vulcan block-Yamaha built the heads and intake. My understanding is that this was a situation that started from the beginning- from when they designed the Taurus. Their new Vulcan V6 was originally designed to have a high-performance component, which was eventually supposed to make its' way to the Mustang GT.
