SCT Question
I was wondering what information that the SCT tuner is able to glean from the truck's strategy that is particular to that one truck(or only a few)? I'm sure that within that strategy code it says what flash that the truck has had, but then I'm sure that are quite a few with that same flash, so what is also contained within the strategy that only partains to that specific truck? I'm sure that tranny shift points and line firmness are also in there, but I would think that there is a commonality there among all the trucks, unless ford changes them a little different at the factory between the trucks.

The VID block is different on each vehicle. It contains things like VIN,rear axle ratio, and other pertinent information that are specific to that particular vehicle. Strategies are the manner in which the control software is configured, and what parameters are there in the software for engine/trans/emmissions management. It's possible that the same year truck with the identical same hardware and package will have different strategies.
