I am very curious to know if anyone can tell me the towing capacity of a 1980 F350. This truck is equipped with the largest engine available in a F350 in 1980, the 400. It also has a C6 tranny, is two wheel drive, and is a Supercab long bed. Can anyone tell me for a certainty what the towing capacity is? I have heard the 400 is actually pretty stout at towing as long as you keep the RPMS up. I would love to hear any comments. Thank!

 

10,000 lbs with class IV or Class V hitch as long as the trailer has a braking system.

Sounds like it should be stout enough for everyday general towing. I was not able to find a web site at all for the general specs on this model because it's an older truck. I can usually use www.kbb.com but I think 1990 is the oldest model I can go back to on that so I wasn't sure. I knew I had a 1986 F350 Crew Cab 4x4 with a 460 that was rated at 10,000. I really appreciate your input. Sounds like this truck is stouter than I thought. ~Shaun
