Thermostat direction

Which way does the thermostat go?

Like an idiot I took the old one out I wasn't paying attention.

Sometimes I wonder about myself...

kinda hard to explain but the end with the spring goes in the intake, the flatter side goes in the water neck. use some silicone to hold it in place while you put the water neck back on, they tend to want to slip down which will causes a leak.

pointy part always goes away from engine.
