My '03 has one in a tight spot but I can still get it off w/o a wrench.

I wonder if there is any kind of aftermarket remote oil filter rig you can buy?
If you do a search for "oil filter relocation kit" you will find several results.

Over the past 30 years I've accumulated a number of filter removal tools. A giant pair of slip joint pliers, nylon and rubber strap wrenches, a pair of chain pliers, a pair of wide mouth vice grips, and 6 or 7 cups. I've yet to find a filter I couldn't remove.

what do you charge for an oil change, labor only, since I have the oil and filters?

I agree

I tried a tool that slips over the end but that did not work. The MONDO channel locks did the trick.

I had the same problem with mine. I had the first free oil change at the dealer, but i would of had to drive about 20 miles to get to it so i decided to do it myself. I attempted to get the damn filter off for approximately 1.5 hrs. The filter would not budge, I tried everything mentioned, but stopped short of putting holes in the filter. I then decided this first change had to happen elsewhere, so I bit the bullet and took it down to the Exxon station and had them change it. They told me it was tough to get off, but they could get more leverage having the truck on the lift. They used the slip over original type oil filter remover. I just hope they didnt put it back on that tight. I told them to just hand tighten. Cost $35, but had a coupon. Ford ought to be shot for putting the damn filter on that tight.
