I just bumped this up hoping someone would know if it works with CDN trucks with drl's. Over at TDS there is something referred to as the 'steveracer mod' that accomplishes the same thing but I havent researched it yet.

I just did this Mod to my '04 F250 6.0 today..about 2 hours ago. After I did it I attempted to test it and could not get the fog lights to work at all. I didn't have time to continue messing with it so I started my truck to let it warm up and was going to leave when I noticed they were on. I did the first test without the truck running, just the headlight switch on. Come to find out...at least on my truck...the headlights, both High and Low beam, will work without the key on, but the fog lights require the key to be on. Just letting you know so you don't have the same confusion that I had as first...
ok ..worked fine on the replacement 07 we havehere..but got a new and bigger question for all the gurus out there...
i would like to keep the high`s and lows on at the same time when i switch to the high beams. ya i know the head light mod, but... when i did the mod mentioned in the forum,....... did nothing but blow fuses. i had a set of adapter plugs i bought from an indiana firm for the o1 we had, and used the religeously on every truck till the 05 (lemon from hell), but lost them in a house fire we had here last september. ( lightning ) I can not recall the company info as to where i got them, (19.95 usd) from what i can recall, but if the mod??? is still working for the 06/07`s i would like to attempt this, or???? buy another set of these finely made plugs... any brain stoming ideas appreciated. sorry, not attempting to hi-jack any thread, just thinking along the lines of getting more light!!!!! (damn pesky deer).
I have not heard of that being done on the newer trucks because apperently the heat gets too high in the housing then? I would also like to do this but I have always wondered about the heat factor. If someone could get me the wiring diagram I could modify it to make this work the way you want. The only other way I can think of is to use 2 relays and a few diodes behind the drivers side headlight.... You could put the diodes behind the stock relays but I dont know the color of the cables coming out of the fuse box...that is where the diagram will come in handy...
Nice thread! Should make a tech article on this one
If I remember, I'll check my '01 EVTM to see if it'll work on the earlier ones. Probably, but can't be sure without checking the schematic.

So what is coming on - highbeams and fogs or - highbeams lowbeams and fogs? I still cant seem to find answers about making things work with DRL's so I will make some phone calls in the next few days.
