'97 F-150 4X4 U-Joint?

I have a '97 F150 4 wheel drive that makes a clunking (2 clunks) noise when I accelerate from a dead stop (It only occurs during this time). The noise comes from the rear of the truck. Is it possibly the U-joint?

Pull the rear driveshaft out and grease the splines inside the front slipyoke. It's a common problem.

'97 F-150 4X4 U-Joint?

My 97 f150 4x4 auto has/had the same problem. I was told that the fluid from the transfer case assy was supposed to lube the splines. Is this correct or not?
Thanks,

It's supposed to but often doesn't seem to be enough...especially if the oil is getting old.
