I have a '97 F150 4 wheel drive that makes a clunking (2 clunks) noise when I accelerate from a dead stop (It only occurs during this time). The noise comes from the rear of the truck. Is it possibly the U-joint?
My 97 f150 4x4 auto has/had the same problem. I was told that the fluid from the transfer case assy was supposed to lube the splines. Is this correct or not?
Thanks,
