Donuts In The Bronc
I see the high school kids and rednecks spinning around all winter long here. Most of their trucks are lifted, even. Looks like a rough ride the way the chassis gets tossed around, but it should be some fun. I just got my '78 in May and have yet to try a winter doughnut with something of its dimensions! We shall have to post our experiences here.
Even on dry pavement, I think the vehicle would have to be going quite fast to even consider a possibility of a flip. The change of direction need be pretty sudden and severe to overcome the stiff suspension of such a heavy vehicle. (I'd like to have had some formal education in advanced physics and mathematics right about now.)

Actually, It's a lot easier to flip a Bronco than you might think. I almost rolled my '86 in the mud while trying to pull a donut. It's not as bad on ice, but you still might want to be careful. Last winter in my '83 I was just playing around on an empty parking lot...you should be alright unless you hit some dry pavement. I've never been that scared in my life.

Yah i've heard of bronco's rolling pretty fast. I have a 88 xlt with 6 Rancho 5000 series shocks, energy suspensions full kit of poly mounts and bushings custom made sway bars 1 1/2" in front and 1 7/8" in the rear. My truck handles better then my buddies 2000 civic with a 3" drop. I come tearing around corners tires screaming then off roading i can do donuts all day with no problem never had a bad experience done them in sand, mud, pavement "wet and dry" ice, deep water "thats the best" sends up a huge tidal wave of water. so maybe if you get some better handling parts you wont have a hard time or be close to rolling it. Also my truck sits pretty much stock except it has a 2" body lift and rides of 31 x10.50 BFG KO's, soon to be 32's. Well hope you guys are careful when playing around.

I've done them in the lot behind my work...oddly enough while my dad did them in his F-150 with me. It was a rough ride, but tons of fun. I wouldn't go crazy with it in case you hit dry pavement, but when the roads are covered in ice (like they often are up here in new england) it's a hell of a lot of fun.

I've never had a problem doing donuts in my rig. I have a 78 with a 6" lift, 33 bridgestone dueler mt's, sways, and a 360 with a 4bbl. I do donuts in the snow, ice, and I can never resist the large intersections of gravel logging roads. I think a little common sense will keep you from rolling any rig...

If it's not broke, your not trying hard enough.
