That would be a nice setup for a fifth-wheel on super duty. Make the center 30" or so into a fuel tank and still have a good sized cargo box on each side.

Maybe its just me but I like the idear. I know that when Ive owned single cab pickups I was always at a loss to put stuff when the weather turned sour. Flexibility is never a bad thing, Id like to see what other new features will be coming out for the other ford truck lines. Did you guys see that chevy cheyenne concept though? Dont know if I quite like hwo similar they are but I guess fords making things happen while chevy's only got a concept.

I think it is a great idea only if the top opens up as well. This option would save me from having to buy a $300+ tool box every time I get a new truck.

This option would probably be figured into the price of the truck too, so you wouldn't necessarily save anything over buying a regular tool box.

not a bad idea at all, id consider buying one, keeps my tools out of the backseat, and they wouyld be accessible without opening the hard cover i have over my box that is usually locked, im assuming these would be on with the keyless entry

That is a nice option for a hunter...you wouldn't be taking up any space in the cab and you'd be able to stuff all of your hunting gear in it PLUS throw a four wheeler in the back. This is a nice feature in my opinion.

A service body would work much better.

I hope all parties involved with this useless vehicle turned in their crack pipes and took a buy out. Ford does not need any more embarrasing vehicles.
