I read on another truck website that a Clifford remote start system (product/installation $600) has a 1 mile range? Anyone have any input on this particular system and is this long range possible? Also a two-way responder notifies the driver if the vehicle has in fact started. All sounds pretty cool to me.
Ah no. But as cynical as some may be about such, this technology is light years ahead of any remote start system. And yet Ford still does NOT offer any type of remote in their fleet. NOT even in the luxury Lincoln line up. Man, no wonder why they're in dire straits.
Viper offers a couple of Start/Alarm systems with SST, which boasts a 1 mile range. Higher end ones have 2 way transmitters that confirm the vehicle has started and show numerous other warnings and alarms on an LCD screen.
