1 piece glass
has anyone used this LINK? I want to swap to power windows, I don't use my vent windows and as cool as they are they are worn out even with new seals and some quarters they still make more noise then I like. not crazy about the universal power window but it seems to be all I can find either way, so I would most likele use a different switch that looks like the stock window roller lever. also not sure about the factory green tint can I still have them tined to 20 percent like I have now?

Try shimming with a thin piece of foam ... or even just cardboard as a test ... between the vent glass rear glass edge and the rubber.
Tint levels written in laws refer to actual % tint or light transmitted with tint on the glass. If you put 20% tint on absolutely perfectly clear non tinted glass, it'll read 20% but such glass is very rare. If the glass is typical at like 80%, adding the same 20% tint will result in 16% tint meter results.
**ONLY COMES IN A FACTORY GREEN TINT OPTION** ... my guess is NY maybe has a requirement of 20% or more VLT on side glasses, if you put 20% tint on the factory green tint, you likely will have ticket getting side glass, some states will even tow for it I hear.

I have to wonder what type of weather stripping is used? How is it attached? The front of the door glass run is the back of the vent window assembly. How do they replace to inner and outer belt line fuzzies? If I was buying I'd have to ask a lot of questions. The vent window bar provides a lot of stability for basically rectangular piece of glass, the main stability. If you reduce the front edge of the glass to the size of the corner of the vent adjustments are going to be a pain for smooth operation. I does look cool though, saw a dent at street machine nationals in 1980 with 1 piece glass. The owner was a total @ick when I asked what the glass was from, told me to figure it out on my own. If you can figure out how to install the 1 piece you are more than up to the task of rebuilding a stock vent assembly.

actually ny no tint on windshield or front drivers and passengers side unless you have a medical exemption. So I'm technically illegal now, but depending on your area since its not a daily driver around here the police are pretty lax, unless you provoke getting pulled over. If I did it I could most likely just ask the tint place to try and get close to the back window. I'm just not a fan of the green factory color

You aren't illegle with glass that is tinted in it's manufacture and approved by DOT, it's "applied tint" that the state tint laws govern, that is the film or other tint that gets added at tint shops or in back yard garages. All glass used for motor vehicles has some measurable tint in it, glass that looks untinted will measure only about 80% VLT if tested with a tint meter. If you are illegal now, it is because of added tint that is not approved by DOT.
