Where to install a single trans temp gauge?

I have a 2005 Screw FX4 with the 5.4L and 3.73 gears. I am planning to tow a 7000lb 26ft travel trailer and have purchased a transmission temperature gauge to help me accurately monitor the trans temp. Now my problem - where to install the gauge itself. I only have one gauge so a 2 hole A pillar gauge holder will not do the trick. Anyone else have one installed? Where? I am not talking about the sensor that goes on the transmission, but rather the gauge itself. Any and all ideas are welcome.

Thanks

Carmk

In some very much earlier posts... there has been some users that put it in the "coin-holder" spot.

The Coin-holder simply yanks out (IF you have it). The only down fall was that for some people, the gauge was being blocked by the column shift lever- while in gear.

Some of the taller folks seem to be able to see right around it.

You may want to make a dummy gauge (cardboard or "something") then draw a target, "gauge needle" and numerics... then watch it while driving to see if you can see it.

If you have no issues with that placement... I'd say go for it..

You should have bought a tuner... It would have showed your transmission temp. Transmisson load and gear.

I considered this for awhile. The coin holder isn't there as I have the electronic 4x4 switch there. I decided to get an Edge Programmer instead...

So...after considerable thought and some frustration on how to mount the transmission temp guage, I took it back to the local performance shop and ordered the Edge on-line at DPP.com. It came today - mounting pod and all. It is too late to install tonight, but I plan to work on it this weekend. Looks pretty cool. From another thread here on FTE, it looks like people generally (and I say generally because some people tend to have some trouble with them) love the Edge. I am looking forward to getting it hooked up and running. I will make sure I post an update once I have it hooked up and I have had time to play with it.
