On my '93 the tach sensor is located on the injection pump cover, just to the drivers side of the the oil fill. The speedometer pickup is in the rear axle.

If you scroll down the page to "Broken Tach." there is picture of the tach sensor position there.

on my 91 the tack is on thr driver side IP cover and the speedo is on the back of the transfer case top of tail houseing driver side at slight angle has about a 3/8 diamiter cable leading in to it.the speedo gauge has probly lost it lubricant.pull the gauge from the dash pull out the cable and shoot a little whit litheum grease in the socket on the back of the gauge and shoot some tef-lube (comes in an arisol can) down the cable sleve.

seizure911- thats the ABS sensor thats on your axle.these speedos are mechanical on the back of the t-case or tranny tailhouseing.

Starting I think in 93 the ABS and speedo sensor were one in the same. I know my 94 uses this for the speedo pickup.

If I remember right the speedo gets it's signal from the rear axle starting in 92.
91 and older get it from the transmission on 2 wheel drives, the transfer case on 4x4 equipped trucks.

92 and newer are electronic speedos.
91 and older are mechanical speedos.
