Unhappy airbag light

I finally got the dinging sound to go away on my 2000 F-350 7.3 by replacing the bulb in the instrument cluster, but now the airbag light will flash 2 times then 7 times and will stay on. this probably means I need to take to dealer but not sure. Just kinda adds on to the bad weekend I had. Tailgate fell down while pulling show calves in my gooseneck trailer and did over 2 grand in damage to my tailgate and bedside. Just hoping things will turn around. any ideas on the light anyone. thanks

27 is the pass side air bag deactivation lamp short to ground. Is the light coming on? you can solder an LED in its place and fix the code or swap the switch for about 60 bucks.

I take it that you are talking about the passenger side airbag light. No it is not coming on at all. It looks like the switch and light are all in one, how hard is it to hook up the led? That sounds better than paying 60 bucks for a new one. thanks

3 screws hold it to the back of the dash facia. Then you can unclip the housing (2 small tabs on each side at the bottom) and the circuit board will fall out and it just a matter of de-soldering the light and soldering in an LED. Just remember that an LED is directional so if it doesn't work flip it around.

Got a led and installed it on the circuit board, It was really simple. Hard to believe that a dealer can charge 60 bucks for that unit. anyway, all dinging is gone and all lights are out that should be. this FTE forum is the greatest. it has saved me a bundle and I am learning and trying things that before I wouldn't tried. thanks for all your help.

And the LED will last much longer than a new bulb (ie 60 buck switch) from the dealer

led

Hi,
Very new to this, have a 00 f150 with the same error code. Sounds stupid, but i'm a newbie: what exactly am i looking for when you say "led"? Is there a specific led light that i need to get? Thanks!
