Removal of head rest ---- HOW ?

I tried taking off the seat covers today, problem is you have to be able to remove the seat head rest, tried always pressing in the black locker on the collar tying to rotate the collar, but no way. It just comes to a stop any idea's
for what its worth its is a 2004 xlt with material trim not leather.

I have the Vinyl interior but that shouldnt matter. I just went out and pushed on the tabs on each side and she pulled straight out, no problem. Maybe you have one side forced against the lock tab. Push down a little to relieve the pressure, push both tabs and push the headrests out. You may need an assistant to help you.

I believe that there is a flush button one the base of it that you press in with a screwdriver.
