Oh, and I'd love to see the vent windows on the doors make a comeback, too.

How about a small capacitor on the fuel pump wires so you can install an aftermarket radio or a CB without tons of electrical noise. I think that would be worth the nickel a truck it would cost.

I would like to see longer beds so that if you purchased a four door F-150, it could haul something instead of being a glorified family car like the current yuppified F-150.

I'd like to see:
1. A 6 speed auto tranny
2. A 4.10+ gearing option
3. Displacement on Demand similar to Dodge and Chevy
4. A 350+hp gasser as the "normal" big engine
5. A 450+hp Lightning edition with 6 speed manual tranny
6. Do away with the little window/door on regular cab models
7. An 8' bed option on Supercrew trucks for those that need/want it
8. A bigger sunroof
9. Include the multi-function center display on XLT models
10. An electric locking rear end on FX4 models, not just limited slip.
11. Painted mirrors and door handles on all upper trim models.
12. Go back to "regular" spark plugs.
13. Cup holders in the rear center arm rest on Supercrew
14. A cargo tie down system in the bed, or at least bigger tie downs.
15. Factory sprayed in bed liner similar to Line-X
16. Revised window controls so my dog can't put the window down/up by stepping on it.
17. A 4yr/48000 standard bumper to bumper warranty
18. A way to adjust the air controls for the rear passengers (fan speed/temp)
19. Better OEM tires
20. Make a 34-36 gallon tank standard

That's my twenty additions I'd like to see for 2009.

How about a power rear window that does not rattle.
Emblems that do not flake paint.
Brakes that do not feel like a marshmellow. (been back 3 times)
A dash that is not callico, grey metalic and tan is not a good combination.
Get rid of the redundant cup holder in the door that I kick every time I get in and out.
Level it out!!! 2"+ drop back to front just looks stupid.
Wheels wide enough to put tires that are proportioned to the truck. For that matter offer a stock tire that is wide enough.
Speakers that do not blow out in a year ( Yes I have the Audophile )

FORD people are you taking notes???????

POWER POWER POWER. This thing weighs way to much for only 300 motor HP.

Yes I am very critical but with a $40K+ price tag it should be better than it is.

Ford, GM and Dodge better watch. Toyota will put them under with their new truck. Toyota actually learns from its mistakes, and other mistakes. They are going to put the hurt on the US truck market with out a doubt.

Some great points. My Lariat rear window rattled and I blew out an Audiophile speaker too (I don't even listen to it as loud as I should!) Ford took care of the window after three trips to the dealer. The speaker got replaced.

The main thing saving the Big Three right now is Toyota's limited capacity. Right now, they only expect to build 200,000 units. With all of their domestic facilities, that will change.

I've owned Ford trucks for over 30 years, sad to say my '06 leaves so much to be desired. The truck is way too stiff for a half ton, hence the driveline vibration issues we're having at 45-60 mph. If you need to tow 11,000 lbs. you don't do it with a light duty half ton, you go up to a Super Duty. This heavy frame is responsible for the porkiness of the truck and resulting poor acceleration, along with generally weak motors. My "Wish List" would include... De-stiffen the ride somewhat along with giving us more comfortable seats with better fabrics that you actually sit IN, rather than ON, give us back the handsome interiors like the old 70's Ranger models had, fabric and carpeted door panels with wood trim and soft arm rests, wood and stainless trim on dash, glove compartment light, get rid of the ridiculous cup holder in the lower door panel that you bang your leg on, return the outside temp.and compass display back to the overhead console, better quality carpet, do something about the wind noise intrusion in the cab, more powerful and quieter A/C compressor that doesn't cycle on and off so loudly, junk the plastic fuel filler door and give us back a steel one, bodyside and stainless wheel lip moldings , rear inner fenderwell splash guards, lower the bed height back to where it used to be, seriously upgrade the quality of brake pads ( think Hawk) that don't cover your wheels in brown dust and actually stop the truck with authority, engine compartment light and underhood insulation blanket and last but certainly not least... a 350 h.p. V-8 that will show its taillights to most of the competition along with a bulletproof 6 speed automatic tranny. Are you listening to us old farts, FORD? You'd better, or you'll soon be learning Japanese, as I (as others) have no qualms about switching brands if you don't give me back the Ford truck I 've always loved. GIT-R-DONE, FORD!!!

Oh yeah, almost forgot! Quit copying Dodge and separate the hood from the grille so you don't lift up the entire front of the truck whenever you pop the hood. Tired of banging my head on the grille hanging down!
