A lot of good ideas so far.

I would like to see a carpet delate option with a black or colored vinyl floor. My dad had a tan vinyl floor in his '95. That was nice.

The frame is good, I would leave it alone. Hell, the New Tundra copied much of it.

More metal, less plastic.

I would like to see the tops of the bed metal instead of the snap on plastic caps.

Lower headrests and an inch or two more headroom.

A track rail tie down system.

Forged aluminum wheels.

And finally, a real regular cab again.

I wonder how many exist today and what that does for value in today's collector market.

Another feature... under-bed storage maybe? I think I saw one "truck" that has that, is it honda? Maybe the integrated step in the tailgate like the new Superduty has.

A real reg cab without extra doors and side windows.
lock out hubs
manual trans
no carpet option
get back to a truck interior
and metal bed side tops.
seats that aren't cement block hard.
Also crew cab with a real bed it worked in 90's why not now.

As for the rear window they must have been fairly common on eBay once in while and I see them at auto swaps. I had one new in 94 it was an after market set up but was put in by Ford garage. They are in alot of conversions trucks with sc .

I worked at Honda garage doing construction . you don't want to haul sand or small stuff. put storage in sides there is alot of room to play with there.

Personally,
Id like to see more lockable storage areas...maybey some in the floor of the cab or sides of the bed like some of the other trucks? I'd also like to see beefier and more reliable A arms and related components ( bushings ect). The dual tank option would be nice as well and how about multiple captain's chairs in the Super Crew. I really like the comfort of the seats in the Explorers myself......in other words...more padding, I drive on a couple long trips a year and would like to not have to shift position so much, I want the seats to hug me like a good race seat does!

A manual transmission on a V8 would be nice, I miss driving a manual oddly enough, I dunno theres just something about a manual transmission that i like. Also the gauge cluster of the superduty in the F150 because that cluster looks sweet!

I would love to see the manual back with all of the engines. I didnt buy one when I was looking becuase of that. I ended up buying a jeep instead. I cant complain about it, but it aint a truck.

I like most of what they have now, except I want a manual transmission and I'd like to see a factory Mach sound system like the 'stangs.

I may forward this thread to the new CEO. Agree with all that Toyota/GM are closing in. Thanks for participating. It's been fun to watch.

Add another vote for a manual transmission with all engines and cabs, the lack of a manual trans option is a large part of the reason that I have not replaced my old F150 yet. A real standard cab would also be nice.

Another vote here for a 6 speed stick. First gear should be a creeper gear like in the SD's. Also, add an automatic hub delete option on the 4WD for those of us who don't want to deal with the nonsense of electronic 4WD.

These are things a real truck should have as optional, even if it is a delete option. The '93 F150 is getting a little rough, but I'm forced into a Super Duty, which is alot more than I need, if I want these options.

Toyota and GM are not closing in, they are leading the way. LOTS more power from both, and GM interiors and mileage are way ahead of Ford. GM has so many engine options, it sucks that we have to go with the Superduty to get any real power. One trend I don't like about the new Fords (150 & Expy) is putting the shifter in the center console. It wastes space and puts both cupholder on the passenger side. I like my 04 Expy's center console that can hold two side by side 64oz drinks. GM and Toyota don't offer that.

Agreed. I have a console shifter and I have come to dislike it. It feels cheap and the sun reflects off the chrome into my eyes. The XLT console has more room and the better column shifter.

I would like to see more power in the 5.4 or what ever new engine Ford comes out with. I like 4wd so I would love to see them put a solid axle with coils in the front and locking hubs. Storage compartment on the side of the bed like some of the F trucks had in the 70's. Softer seats would also be nice. Everything else I like about my 05 150!
