Should the Harley, King Ranch, XLT, FX4, and Lariat all exist? How about the Lariat and King Ranch combine features at the high end?

[quote=RangerPilot]Much better for them to sell a hot-performing truck, then have lots of aftermarket parts they can sell you to hype it up even more. That way, the safe drivers with big wallets can upgrade.

Sometimes the drivers with the big wallets are the worst drivers.
Nevertheless, a good diesel would be the ticket.

What about make variable displacement in their diesel engine. Cruising down the road with no load, I don't need 8 or 6 Diesel cyclinders firing. Half that would do. I live where it's flat, and don't haul a load too often. I would love that great MPG.
Also, (probably wrong forum) make COMMERCIAL Bio-Diesel acceptable to use in their engine beyond 5%.

6.2 V8
Diesel
6 spd.
4.30 LSD (option)
Towing mirrors like SD
BETTER QUALITY FABRICS!!!!!! I've had 3 f-series trucks 99' F-250, 04' F-250, and my current 06' 150. The 99' had by far the best quality fabric period.

Traction Control, true AWD in addition to 4WD. Roll down rear window, tailgate step like on the Super Duty's, 110V inverter in the cab, extra powerpoints for additional accessories, truck bed rail system, Big control knobs for climate control like the Tundra.....I want a smooth ride and MPG like my wife's AWD Montego, with the ability to haul and pull like my 6.0L Super Duty 4X4, and the looks to make my Dodge and Chevy friends want to switch to FORD. Joe.

In addition to most of what has already been said:

--Tow command and Up fitter switches would be nice.

--Trailer Lights & Brakes hookups in the bumper instead of below.

--Lockable cargo boxes/Doors on the pickup box sides.

--Light under the hood again.

--(dreaming) Dual fuel tanks again.

I know its has been mentioned numerous times all ready:

~6.2L Boss w/ Variable displacement
~A Diesel thats no smaller than the 4.6L V8 Triton gas
~6 spd auto Transmission w/ Tow/haul mode
~6 spd manual Transmission available on all engine options
~The Towing Mirrors that are supposed to be available eventually on the '07 150
~110v AC in the cab. It would be cool to take this a step further though - what about the availability of 110v back in the box (weather resist of course). Powerful enough that you could use your truck as a (small) generator if need be?

How about a Truck that wont break and is GOOD from the first year it is built. Stop the customer research center...ie hey buy our truck and figure out what we missed!!!!!!!!!

The SparkPlugs,CamPhasers, jacked up PCM's and what ever else you can remember that happen to more than one of us.!!!!!!

Daytime running lights, tired of turning on the headlights and then not being able to see radio, heater displays as they go dim and you can't see them in the daylight. Better listen up Ford to suggestions. Toyota is getting real close to kicking your but.

Exclamation

Good stuff so far, some things I would like to see: a cabin air filter like Volvo has(charcoal and anti bacterial) Ford owns Volvo so why not?, an optional locking rear differential for those of us that hunt and fish a lot in tough terrain, better fit and finish(softer materials inside the cab and on dash) the cold weather here in Minnesota makes everything brittle and noisy, different color guages(electroluminescent would rock in these trucks!), said already but(better quality floor and seat fabric), better stock radio and sound system, Ford is falling way behind here, and yes, a more powerful engine that delivers on improved fuel economy. I sure hope Ford has It techs and exec.'s that read these on-line forums to see what their buyers/customers really think and what issues their products are having in the "real world." You simply cannot simulate real world problems and conditions in a lab or on some dyno mounted to a table. Quality control and reliability MUST improve for Ford in the future or they will learn a very tough lesson. That being said, I still love my 04 FX4 but I don't want to see Ford lose to anyone else!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

roll down rear window, yeah. Someone should make that available as an aftermarket mod for our trucks. Better road crud engine compartment protection would be nice.

Ford did offer a power down rear window 20+ years ago (the entire back glass went up and down)...not many people bought it. I've seen exactly one.
