12V wiper motor install
I picked up and installed a replacement wiper motor in my 1950 F1 today. I powered it up and was surprised by the level of noise it puts out. Anyone else have this problem ?
I'll have to shave/trim the driver defrost vent to clear the motor; as per manufacturer. I'm only going with one wiper for now; more important is to get it moving under its own power this summer.

I couldn't keep the shaft from turning past the set screws. It seemed the shaft was too hard for the set screws to bite into. Finally got tired of standing on my head to make repairs and put the vac wiper back in. 5 years later I'm still using the vac setup. Plus the linkage for the pass side on my 48 seemed to bind.
FYI, you sit close enough to the windshield that you don't really need a passenger side wiper. I disconnected mine and haven't missed it.
Road trip secret: use Rain-X and you can get by without wipers! Been there, done that........
