multi-vehicle formula

I am planning to service my own transmission and I bought Mobil 1 synthetic multi-vehicle fluild. I have heard that there might be problems with multi-vehicle fluild. On the bottle it says Dexron/Mercon Mercon V. This looks like good oil and the right oil for my vehicle. My vehicle takes the Mercon transmission fluid. What are the problems I might have, if any? I have a 1997 E-350 van with an E40D transmission. Does anyone have any real-life experience with this situation? What fluild do transmission shop put in there rebils do they have four or five fliuld on hand. This is were I got the information. Please Help!

great question....I'm going to drop the pan on my F150 4R70W and replace only what i take out...not even draining the torque converter. she's had 30k mile flushes (and the most recent at 20k) so i'm not too worried.
