where to cut the stock muffler for delete pipe?

I recieved the muffler delete pipe from Pure Diesel Power. I opened up the box and there are no instructions. That is usually fine but after looking to cut the stock muffler I wasn't sure where to cut. I e-mailed the web site but thought I would get a quicker response here!

So here is what I see. I will cut the pipe out of the rear of the muffler as close to the muffler as possible. I thought the new pipe should just bolt into the flange that is about 12" ahead of the muffler but it looks as if the new pipe is to short for that. There is one of the hanger clamps in between the muffler and the flange. Do I cut after that clamp ahead of the muffler? Any answers would be great.

Thanks

Measure the piece of pipe you have. Then measure the muffler. Cut accordingly.
And always cut it short. You can cut again if you have to but you don't want to have to go out and buy more pipe.
Good luck with it.

My dealer said no issues as long as CAT and anything in front of it was intact.

You know that sounds so simple when you put it that way. No wonder I didn't think of it. I always make things more diffucult than they need to be

I agree. My dealership said no issues as long as the cat is left in. I know a lot of guys have pulled theirs and bolt it back in when it goes to service dept. I will see how it sounds w/o the muffler with cat still in place.....Sounds like the stck muffler is most restrictive

It sounds awesome. At startup it sounds like a big block with headers, then the turbo spools up and you get a little jet like noise. Under acceleration it seems the sweet spot is between 2k and 3k RPM's. Roll it up to there and then get on it.......... The idle is a little louder than normal. Overall it's really not offensive under normal driving.
