Are 79 and 83 Tops Interchangeable

Are 79 and 83 Tops Interchangeable
Went 4 wheeling a few weeks ago with my 79 Bronco and got carried away.I ended up coming home minus a rear window and with a very bent tailgate. I did find a used tailgate in the bone yard with no window. I was lucky enough to run across a very rusty 83 Bronco so I bought it for the window and the seats. With tailgate and window installed I closed the window to find the glass is slightly differnt. I have a small gap on each side towards the top of the window. Will the top from the 83 fit the 79. Thought I would ask here and see if anyones knows.
