It is an internal leak of injection control oil pressure.

Can you imagine being a poor guy with this symptom and NOT being on this board? How long do you think it would have taken them to figure it out on their own, waiting for it to throw a code? I've seen it over and over and this is just the best place there is. Our techs are the greatest and they really care. Here's one of my Buds to you guys...

Hard starting when towing.

Took my truck to our local Ford dealer this week with my complaint of my 2005 6.0 Powerstroke starting poorly when warm and very poorly after towing. From my reading of this website, I had some degree of concern that the snap to connect fitting may be the problem and I relayed those thoughts to the service manager as well as the head diesel tech. They pretty much blew me off-said the truck had no codes and if the SNC fitting was the issue I would have had to have been towed in as my truck would not run. Is that the case or are they mistaken. Those techs just love it when you come in with a diagnosis don't they! Any help would be appreciated as my warranty is about up. BTW this problem began about 10k miles ago after a head gasket and egr repair. Give me a reason to keep thius truck as I love it when it runs well.

This is a rather old thread. So you might want to start a new thread giving the details of the gasket and egr symtoms. And continue with what it has been doing since. This sounds like where your hard start came into play.

Give me a reason to do business with your dealer.....find another dealer that does know what your talking about.

Here is a link to a thread with the TSB for the snap to connect fitting which clearly states that a code will NOT be thrown: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/6...ont-start.html Print that out for them and take it in. Your truck CAN have this problem and still start and run, although it will get worse in time. Sounds like they're trying to NOT fix it under warranty. One other note. If it started after a head repair they might not have gotten the high pressure oil system back together correctly, ie, it could have a small internal leak that you wouldn't see just like the SNC fitting. They can check your ICP pressure with their computer, sounds like they just don't want to.

[QUOTE=Powerstroke_wannabe]Well that sucks. So much for "service." I don't think a leaking HPOP fitting will throw a code. Did they attempt any starts with the engine at normal operating temp? If not, no wonder they couldn't diagnose the problem.[/QU
some FYI it wil set a code or most likely two if it really has a HPO leak.. ICP too low during cranking and ICP less than desired I believe, had one on tuesday.. broke right off and cracked the rear engine cover due to pressure in the branch tube fitting.

Correct. A code can be thrown for these things, but not always. I get a little ahead of myself in my typing sometimes, hence why I quote TSB's if I can find them.

these dealers will not satisfy customers, or maybe they do not have good diesel techs..we keep them until we duplicate the cause of concern. i do not get it...
