13 Months and 20,000 miles later...
I have zero problems with my bone stock SD. Just got back last night from another Glamis mission (520 miles round trip) and my truck (2006 PSD FX4 Long Bed Crew Cab) ran flawlessly again. I pull an 11,000lb (loaded) toyhauler and passed everything that came into view. Easily. Never turned the AC off one time. I LOVE this truck and the only reason for this post is to let people know that the 6.0 is a fine motor when left the hell alone and treated properly with regular oil changes (5000 miles or less) and fuel filters now and again. I have 3 buddies with the same truck and not so much as a fart from any of them. Ever....
BTW...That Dog Cummins combo is a pig. I say that as I blew by at least 10 of those things like they were not even moving when they got in front of me going 55 like Grandmas station wagon on the way to church. Just moved over a lane, put the wood to it and never saw them again. I LOVE this truck.........

I just got back from a 700 mile trip and I averaged 17.1 mpg and I went from 1300' in elevation to 6300'. I kept the speed at 65-68mph and I was amazed how smooth this truck runs..... I love it.... I saw as high as 19.5 mpg on this trip and I only have 5500 miles on her.....
Oh yeah that is on winter fuel also......

Gentlemen:
Nothing but positive results here in North Texas from my 2005 F250 CC SB.... Owned it for 28 months now with 65K on the clock and not a lick of problems. I tow a 9k 5'ver to the coast and back and out to Vegas a couple of times and always average 15-16 MPG at 65 mph.... Rarely does another 5'ver rig pass me and if they do it is usually blowing smoke like a train trying to 'teach me some lesson' on towing or something... HAHAHA... I drive my 250 everyday and always service it just as the book requires. Bone Stock on everything except a 2-inch level kit on the front. Heck, even have the original rubber on it as I rotate the tires evey oil change....
Wouldn't even consider trading it in on a new one, even though all of the young guys at work are begging me to sell it to them so I can buy a '08... Fuel up, add Ford additive, wash, wax, vac, and drive..... See my pic's on my page and it looks the same as the day I bought it outstanding the driver seat has more 'wrinkles' now..... Needing to lose some weight... HAHAHA

27 Months & 70,000 Miles Later
We love our 2004 6.0, running flawlessly after 70,000 miles. We refill the crankcase every 7,500 miles with 15 quarts of Rotella 5W-40. It has only been to the Ford store once, that was in May 2005 for the transmission recall so I am sure we are at least a couple of "flashes" behind.

2003 6.0 (60,000k)- I have had zero problems with the truck, I change oil every 5,000 and fuel filters ect.-normal maint. My truck is stock, no mods. It does everything I need it to do. Starts when it's cold outside and runs like a dream- couldnt ask for more- I get about 16-16.5 mpg on the freeway. So far no complaints.

I had a Duramax trying to pace me but when it got good going up into Beaumont he started to have to run it a little harder and that thing started smoking like a 1973 Bluebird school bus. Not saying that the others are not decent enough trucks but I own a FORD PSD for a reason. They just plain pull hard and if left alone they will pull for a long time too...

I like this thread,,,LOL,,Heading to VT. with my 06' F-350 6.0,,over the summer, pulling my 16' pace American, with 2-ATV's and stuff on board, doing about 80 or so,,in the passing lane I was,,, another SuperDuty in front of me (no trailer)in the slow lane,,staying right with him,,up hills, and so on did that for about 10 miles,,I could see him looking in his mirror,,I was smiling,,,Ha ,Ha,,no one else around, so it was fun, my exit was cumming up so I just pulled in behind him,,but 85 mph,,was fast enough I thought,,these 6.0's will pull like a 25 Legged mule I tell ya !

06 F350 just turned over 16,000 miles, no problems. Love the truck, won't buy another one for a while (need to break my every two year deal). Just took a trip into N. New Mexico from Colorado and got 17.9 running 60 to 75 through the mountains, a little snow, wind. etc. Plenty of power going up the hills. Seems to tow a trailer okay too. Love these fords. Levi
