Foiled again
Hey all,
today was the day I had planned to take off the wrong lift kit that the bozo P.O. had put on my truck. I bought all the parts (see buy/sell thread) to go back to stock for a while, got the shop time and lifted the truck to start taking parts off. Lo and behold, on the inside of the frame rail, hidden by the header is a crappy weld holding the incorrect radius arm drop bracket in place.
You couldn't see anything from a normal inspection. I think someone must have gotten a welder for christmas and practiced on anything he could. Sheesh, what a putz.
I guess I'll just put some new 4" lift shocks on and deal with it. This task would have put me at the $2500.00 limit I had set for repairs/rebuilds on Ronin anyways. Who knows, maybe I'll try to trade Ronin in for another project truck to start on. Something stock so I can build it the way I want it, not repair another persons screw ups.
Time for a beer
Dave
PS. I'll see everyone at the G2G on the 31st
