New MPG Estimates

The EPA is adjusting the methods they use to calcuated MPG estimates for new vehicles. These will become effective for MY 08. Almost all vehicles will have lower estimates. The F150 4x4 will now be 12 city 16 hwy. I think it is a good idea because everyone knows those numbers are inflated; however at the bottom of this article they compared the F150 to the dodge and the dodge has now decrease in hwy mileage. Now while this could be due to the MDS system, I think it could have political ties.

Here is the article:

The MDS system works great.....so long as you are going between 45 and 65. My wife has it in our Jeep. We can get 20-22 mpg easily if we stay around 60-65. At around a steady 75-80 it drops down to 18/19 depending on wind and terrain.
