Looking to change the 2 to a 4 on my 59 f100. can't afford a new aluminum itake so will be searching for a old stock one, any one to look for in particular, or one to stay away from?

Hi i have that manifold on my 292 with a 600 sq bore holley work,s find

 

There is only one 4V manifold listed for 292 truck engines between 1957/63.

B7T-9425-B Manifold, 4V .. 1957-1964: B-C-F500/700 .. 1963/64 N500/700

The 1957 Ford and T-Bird 4V manifold will work...but not the 1955/56 Ford and TB...which uses a different carb which has the choke mounted on the manifold on one of the yrs (forget which) and the carb is a completely different design. Ford went to the conventional style Holley and Ford 4V carbs in 1957.


The 55/56 carbs are a tall domed affair, and are called toilet bowls for several very good reasons.

 

I'm scrounging Merc Carter carbs to go on the ECZ-A intakes. The ECZ-B intakes are getting expensive on eBay.
