A buddy at work has a 2000 F-150 4.6L SOHC. It has headers and a K&N FIPK. Sometimes when he lets off the throttle, the engine will moan at idle. As soon as he hits the gas, it stops.
I have never head that before. How does the K&N cause this? I have had a K&N on many other vehicles and I have never head that sound before. We have a 1993 Aerostar, 1993 Thunderbird, 1991 Tracer 1.9l, 1992 Escort GT 1.8l, 1998 Grand Am GT, and a 2002 Sport Trac...and all of them have a K&N.
On the K&N FIPK the istructions tell you to remove the little black box by the IAC and put the piece of hose there. I just put the box back on and it fixed it. Try it and let me know.
