What size tires are on your truck??
They made about 700-800 thousand of these F series trucks per year. I would suspect that it is a matter of how many survived after 15 years.
I think that these SWB F150 92-96 trucks are some of the best looking trucks that Ford ever made.

I also love the shortbed 4x4s, especially the 92-96. My 94 is a swb 4x4, and its copper too, another thing that you hardly see on that year range of truck. Your 92 is cool, i havent seen a swb 4x4 with a 351 in it before, very cool.

Thanks - Tires are only 31 x 10.5....biggest possible tire that fits on the stock wheel. And yeah, I agree these are the coolest looking F150's out there. The only thing I had to add was an 18.5 gallon auxiliary fuel tank (finally found some RV place that installed it about 6 months after i bought it new). The stock single tank of 18.2 gallons did not provide enough range with the guzzling 5.8L engine!
For all you guys with the 4x4 SWB Regular Cab: Have any of you added the auxiliary tank? Believe this is the only version of the F150 that Ford did not put dual tanks in at the factory from '92-96.

Anyway, I have seen a short bed version of my sig truck and I think that I may have seen one like mine in blue but it was going the other way and I couldn't see much.
Yes the Shortbed regular cab 4x4s were the only 92-96s with single tanks, says so in my owners manual that dual tanks are not advailable with that configuration.
My truck's configuration is pretty rare for around here, its a 93 F-150 XLT Supercab Flareside in the Electric Current Red, sweet looking truck man. There are plenty of regular cab Flaresides around, but its very rare to see another Supercab version. Thats a bit suprising because I see a million of the competiting 93-98 Chevy CKs with the extended cab/stepside option around here.
But I too like the looks of the Shortbed/Reg Cab F-150s...hell I love the looks of the 92-96 trucks period, people think Im nuts because I get all exited when I see one of these 9th Generation beautys. The newer ones just dont get me pumped up...though I have seen a few sweet Gen 10 trucks around lately.

My shortbed RC 4x2 also has the single tank. Wired for two, but only has one. Gotta see if I can find some pics from the last time it was clean. Since I've owned it, (16 miles on the odo when I bought it USED). I've seen exactly 8 with the same color keyed stripe package mine has. That's ranging from Michigan to Florida, and California to North Carolina for the past 14 years. Really makes the truck stand out and look a lot newer than it is.
Now, are the current model years considered Gen 10, or Gen 11? The 97 to '03's looked like a Taurus with a bed on it to me. I like the newer models with the big bull nose on 'em. Looks like they hired some of the engineers that redesigned the Dodge. Got it looking like a real TRUCK again, instead of a chopped down station wagon. Just about turned 'em back into Rancheros.
Try finding a 92-96 longbed supercab 4x4 XLT with a 5 speed. That's the truck I was determined to get when I was looking for one. Turned down quite a few very nice trucks too. Then I saw one in an ad I almost missed, and I'm glad I held out for what I wanted. I've never seen another in person configured the same, just one here in the gallery.
My other 95, a Supercab shortbed 4x4 302 auto, is a little more common.
Area must have a big effect. I've seen probably five different F-150 Crew Cabs and one "suburban", all 92-96's. Flareside supercabs are more common here than regular cabs, and GM stepsides are even more rare. The 351 in an F-150 isn't near as common as the 302 it seems.
I know my trucks are a little older but I had an 86 SWB, 351 with the dual tanks and I currently have an 88 SWB, 351 with dual tanks. Both regular cab trucks. I haven't seen many in my area and the ones I've seen are all 302.

Very interesting fact about the gas tanks. My truck only has one 16 gallon tank and I always wondered why the previous owners (original owners) didn't opt for the 2nd tank on such a big rig (crew cab short bed), but I guess it is because my truck STARTED at a single cab short bed 4x4, and then was STRRREEETCHED into a crew cab by Centurion. Sure wish I had that 2nd tank :-( Been keepin my eyes out for a bronco tank from a pick-n-pull that I could strap up there. Anyone in cali have an extra bronco tank?
