Found the clicking noise in my 51

Guys I found it or my dad did anyway. It was the voltage regulator. The PO put it on and didn't polverize(MP) it. I thought it was the fuel pump rod doing it. But dad fixed it and it don't make the clicking noise anymore. The 12 volt voltage regulator says you have to do the same thing to it before you every start the motor. Learned something new today. Now I need to get the exhaust leaks fixed and I'm read to hit the road when the weather breaks. Where is a good place to buy Smithy mufflers from or does a cherry bomb muffler sound the same. Scott

It's good the PO didn't pulverize the regulator. That would have made it very hard to fix!

Nothing has the same sound as a Smithy...get the real thing.

Red's has the best online prices on Smity's that I found when I was looking. Nobody around here stocks them or I would have used local. Got my tube headers and extention pipes from them too and the whole set up is quite purty, to the eyes and ears.
