Hey Matt, do you have the TSB on this? It could be posted on this thread and will list all the parts needed by year. I dont remember the number anymore but I know there were atleast 2 or 3 TSB's on this until they got to the molded gasket/separator plate fix

good luck. remember to be patient. the job will take a couple of hours. and remember... I HAD NO REVERSE when i started the truck. im not sure if i reinstalled the reverse servo incorrectly. but after i drove around for awhile it came back. it took around 10 miles of stop and goes before my truck was back to normal. make sure you do the blow off valves while you are in there.

Do I have to do the blow off valves? What if I don't?

Is there a p/n for the blow off valve?

i would recommend it because it helps lower the pressure to prevent this from happening again. for your transmission im not sure. you could call your parts guy that helped you and tell you which part number it is

OK! I'll try that...should I just say "blow off valve"?? Is that what the part is called specifically or is that a nickname?

The only indication something is worng is the light, however I did notice the TC is not going into lockup. The light came on during routine driving. Never any tc shudder, etc. Car has 74k is not run hard or used for towing.

I am thinking I will replace the valve body, etc. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,
BILL
Hum, why I am hear today,
my 2000 explorer just started doing the same thing yesterday. O/D light flashing, shifts fine, no T/C lock up. I shut it off, re-start and all is well. Then about another hr of driving (city, stop and go) it's back. 81k on the clock, no hard miles and or towing done with it.

Dealer replaced valve body gasket & other misc items when I had tranny flushed, because of issues. That was less then 6month ago.

Dealer wants to charge $85 for reading the codes. I have the Ford extended coverage $50 deduct. They say that it does not cover reading the codes.
